Who is in charge of the future?

Who is in charge of the future ?

PHIL 101

It is natural to wonder if our actions are affecting the future. Some might be more invested in this than others, but everyone has at least wondered once. Should we prioritize the people that are here now ? Or be more cautious and think of our future generations ? Maybe both ? There is no wrong answer, there is no evidence to prove that picking apple juice over orange juice  will cause you to not have as of a productive day. Yet that does not mean we should go out and burn everything to the ground and not care about tomorrow. But I strongly believe that we simply cannot know which decision or choice will wipe out humanity. As a person of faith I simply believe that people do not have such power over the future.
It is easy to get lost in the idea of future. I think some people spend more time wondering what the future will look like rather than living in the moment. We are always looking at what is coming next and never what is happening now. Not to say that the future is not important and we should not care about the people that are coming after us. It is important that we take care of our world and society, we must be held accountable. Taking care of our world and doing whatever is possible to ensure a better future is our responsibility. There would be no purpose to live in a society where we did not care for the people that are coming after us. That would only be bad for us because if we are not working towards creating a better future than what is the point ?
No choice that a simple person makes will be the direct cause of something as big as the distraction of the world. Even if that happens we simply cannot know for sure the cause, there could be multiple events that cause such a thing. There is no way of telling that even if that choice was not made, that event would still not occur.

  1. Theo,
as a person of faith I say that everything happens for a reason and we humans might not see the wisdom in somethings that happens because we simply don't know the reasons that's why I agree with the point you made in your last paragraph that there is no way of telling that even if that choice was not made, that event would still not occur.
